1. Shape and structure:

Plastic random packing: Its shape is usually irregular, and it is composed of a large number of small packings of the same type stacked in an orderly or disordered manner. This design gives the random packing a large volume and surface area, and at the same time, good mass transfer can be achieved through clever design.

Structured packing: Its shape is relatively regular, and it is usually neatly stacked in the chemical tower according to a certain shape or other requirements. Each packing is closely adjacent to each other to form a whole, and this structure helps to optimize fluid distribution and mass transfer efficiency.

2. Stacking density and permeability:

Plastic random packing: Due to its loose shape, the space between it is relatively large, and the stacking density is relatively low. This characteristic makes the random packing have good permeability and is suitable for use in occasions requiring high permeability.

Structured packing: Due to its regular shape and orderly stacking, the stacking density is relatively high. This helps to improve the filling density and stability in the tower, but correspondingly, its permeability may not be as good as random packing.

3. Applications:

Plastic random packing: usually used in situations that require high air permeability and low density, such as biogas fermentation, water treatment, air filtration, etc. In addition, it has good pressure resistance and is reliable, and is also suitable for high-viscosity, low-density logistics liquids.

Structured packing: more suitable for situations that require high filling density and stability, such as wastewater treatment, chemical reactors, powder storage, etc. At the same time, it can also handle low-density, high-viscosity logistics liquids well, and ensure the stability and reliability of the logistics tower
