Ceramic tower packings are industrial mass-transfer media manufactured from silicates, alumina, and related ceramic materials. They exhibit excellent resistance to acids, heat, and corrosion, withstanding virtually all inorganic and organic acids as well as organic solvents, with the exception of hydrofluoric acid. These packings are widely employed in drying towers, absorption towers, cooling towers, scrubbing towers, and regeneration towers across the chemical, metallurgical, coal gas, and oxygen production industries. The following three ceramic random packing types are among the most commonly specified for industrial tower applications.

Ceramic Raschig Ring – As the earliest developed random packing, the Raschig ring features a simple cylindrical structure with equal height and diameter. Larger sizes (above 100 mm) are typically arranged in a stacked manner, while smaller sizes are dumped randomly. Despite its relatively modest mass-transfer efficiency, the Raschig ring remains in use due to its straightforward manufacturing process and cost-effectiveness.

Ceramic Pall Ring – Developed from the Raschig ring, the Pall ring incorporates window openings on the ring wall with tongue-shaped tabs bent inward toward the center. The open area accounts for approximately 30% of the total wall surface, allowing gas and liquid to flow freely through the windows and significantly improving internal surface utilization. This design enhances mass-transfer efficiency and makes the Pall ring a preferred choice for many corrosive process applications.

Ceramic Cascade Mini Ring – The Cascade Mini Ring reduces the ring height-to-diameter ratio, thins the wall thickness, and adds a flanged edge at one end. The flange increases mechanical strength and disrupts structural symmetry, enhancing the probability of定向 orientation during dumping. The flange also shifts contact between packing pieces from linear to point contact, increasing void space, reducing gas flow resistance, and promoting liquid film renewal for improved mass transfer. Performance is further enhanced compared to the Pall ring.

Ceramic tower packings are critical components in mass-transfer and heat-exchange equipment operating under corrosive and high-temperature conditions. Pingxiang Chemshun Ceramics Co., Ltd. manufactures a comprehensive range of ceramic tower packings including Raschig rings, Pall rings, Cascade Mini rings, and saddle-type packings, with alumina content ranging from 17% to 23%. The company's products are widely applied in chemical, petrochemical, natural gas, and environmental protection industries, with over 50% of production exported directly or indirectly to the Americas, the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
